LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL
Latin name
Lavendula angustifolia.
Description
A perennial bushy shrub with silvery, grey or green linear leaves and purple, violet or blue spiky flowers. High-altitude lavender is produced in France on the slopes of Mont Blanc. The higher altitude gives rise to higher natural linalyl acetate (Ester) levels. Linalyl acetate is antiviral and antibacterial. Therefore the properties of this lavender are increased compared with standard lavender.
Precautions
Some people with low blood pressure may feel a bit dull and drowsy after using the oil. Avoid during pregnancy.
